Not asleep again.

Friday, September 26th, 2003

Insomnia strikes again. Either that or my clock is plain screwed.

Anyway, my Powerbook’s Ethernet connection has been acting up. I really didn’t notice anything for I was on wireless for the past few days after the update but when I was trying to watch a video on my PC via the local network, the connection kept dying on me. Subsequently, Internet access via the Ethernet connection on my Powerbook was also not working.

I’ve known that there’s some users who had problems with their Ethernet ports but it seemed to be specific to only some machines. Anyway, I’ve applied the solution found here. Let’s see if it works for me know.

Trackpad scrolling on Apple portables

Wednesday, September 24th, 2003

It’s nice to be able to surf the web from the couch or bed using my Powerbook but I miss having the scroll wheel. Looking around, I found uControl which is a piece of software that allows remapping of keys on your keyboard in OS X. It has a function that allows your to scroll using a trackpad by holding down a modifier key (ie Fn).

Then somesone suggested Sidetrack, which also lets you emulate the scrollwheel function, but without any modifier key but simply dragging on the edges of the trackapd.

Either way, it’s all good.
